So Hitler had moved to Germany, where he'd joined the army and from there he had fought in World War I. Hitler had loved war, which was very peculiar. He was awarded multiple medals for risking his life for the country multiple times. After losing World War I, him and a lot of other Germans felt that the whole world was against them, because of the rules that had been set. It seemed that the world did not want their country to be prosperous and thrive, their army was set at a cap of 100,000 soldiers only. Hatred toward Jews were also there, because at the time Germany was very poor, but there were many Jews who were rich at the time, so Germans were jealous of them. They'd said how the Jews were selfish and didn't help out the poor at all, how they supposedly are "bad people". Adolf Hitler and many other Germans had a lot of hatred to the rest of the world after World War I, and wanted their country to become important and prosperous once again.

Hitler, Product Of His Past
Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889. When Hitler was a kid he was always spoiled by his mother. His dad was very abusive to both him and his mother, so Hitler had hated his father throughout his life. It is said that Hitler's father is actually Jewish, which might also add to why he disliked Jews so much, to be able to kill millions of Jews and influence everyone else to do so. Throughout his childhood it seemed that he'd failed in everything and was said to be a failure, including school. Eventually he dropped out of school. Though in particular Hitler had been very interested in art and going into art school, though he was not good enough to become a famous artist or anything like that, he was also rejected by the art school when he'd requested to join. Hitler had lived in Austria, and had to take a military test, if he passed he were to join the army, but he had failed the test, he was weak in build.
Adolf Hitler Rises
Adolf Hitlers past made him a hateful world domineering adult. When he was little he was spoiled by his mother and was his mamas boy. His father was strict and very abusive towards his mother. Hitler had a lot of hatred towards his father and abandoned his family when he was older. He failed at many things including school, he was not very social. He loved art but was rejected at the school he wanted to enroll in. Hitler has a lot of anger and bitterness on the world. Hitler joins the army and he loved it. It was the only thing he was good at. He was so good at it that he won medals for bravery including the iron cross. When Hitler was fighting in the war he was attacked by a mustard gas attack that injured and enhanced his vocal chords that made him louder. Hitler was very angry at Germany's defeat so he joined a political party called the Nazi party. He later became the leader of the Nazis in a short amount of time. He was a great speaker with a loud voice that projected a lot. He lied and told people what they wanted to hear. He channeled Germans anger after World War 1 on Jews and the rest of Europe. He alone could return to Germany to greatness which led him to power.
In the 1920s due to the power he was gaining, Hitler led the Munich Beer Hall putsch. H attempted to overthrow the government. It failed and Hitler was arrested. He was given a sentence of 3 years in prison, quickly reduced to be 6 months. While in prison Hitler wrote a book, Mein Kampf. The book outlined everything, Hitler would do in power, no one reads it and no one stopped him. In 1932 he was selected chancellor of Germany. Hindenburg is still president. In March, 1933 the Reichstag building burns down. Arrest a Dutch communist named Marinus Vander Lubbe. He is convicted and Hitler claims this is evidence of a communist. Hitler uses fear to convince the Reichstag Fire Decree. He suppressed free speech. H suspended civil liberties. He also suspended habeas corpus and people would be put in jail for no reason. In 1934, Hitler convinces the Reichstag to preserve safety and help the German people to pass the enabling act, it gave Hitler emergency powers. He could claim an emergency and pass laws without the consent of the Reichstag, his first law was to dissolve the Reichstag. Hitler had complete power in 1934.

Holocaust
The Holocaust was the massive killing of Jews and undesirable people in Europe but also the world. The brains behind it all was Adolf Hitler who had a lot of hate towards the Jewish population and anyone who didn't look like the Aryan race. He wanted to make the Germans the dominant people in the World. He used a lot of methods to get rid of the Jewish and undesirables. His steps for non Jew people was; 1. deport undesirables to other countries but many believed they were not getting rid of the undesirables, they were just moving them and they had to exterminate them completely. 2. Sterilization of Jews. 3. Deport to walled in cities for disease and starvation to walk over. Hitler didn't find it efficient and it was too expensive. They had to build a wall and after wards had to burn the city down. 4. Mobile killing Units, which were also not approved by Hitler because they were "wasting" bullets in the people they killed. So, 5. were concentration camps and work camps. Jewish were put in small places where they wouldn't be fed much and would work for many hours without getting payed. In these camps, German doctors and scientists would use the Jews as science experiments and many of the experiments were horrendous but no one did anything because Jews were not considered equal to humans. But, again this process was not fast enough for Hitler and he went to the "Final Solution" which was very efficient. His final solution, I think were gas chambers. In a film I saw called "The Boy in The Striped Pajamas" it showed how the Jews were told they were going to take a shower in this chamber. When they were all inside, the people in charge would close the chamber and would gas the people inside. This was relatively efficient and it killed a lot of people in an instant and it was not expensive and afterwards they would simply burn the bodies.
To me this is very sad, I mean Hitler didn't even fit in with his perfect race. He also did horrendous things and didn't have anyone to stop him, he let his anger on the Jews and fooled the Germans completely. I just doesn't seem fare that he is killing millions of people for being Jews or disable. The person didn't choose to be that way and he was being very foolish for killing them. The way he was also killing them seemed inhuman to me. He would cramp them in small spacious and would barely feed them anything so they would starve to death. He would also use the Jews in human experiments that were very cruel. Many of the people used for the experiments would get killed from the experiments. Hitler could of been thrown out of power way before the start of World War II, he was in charge of Germany before the start of the War, which was the bloodiest war in human history, 70-85 million people killed! He was showing signs that he was not mentally stable but no mayor country listened to him and he was good in convincing the people in Germany that what he was doing was alright. He was there in the right timing, he took advantage of the Germans who were going through a hard time and make them cooperators of his sick plan against the Jews and undesirables.
Learning About Hitler and the Holocaust
Recently, my class and I have entered the Night unit after going through seven weeks of the Wait Till Next Year unit. Prior to getting introduced to the Night unit and the history of Hitler, World War One and Two, and the Holocaust, I honestly did not have much interest in the topic. However, after learning and spending more time with this unit, I have come to find a new fascination for the Holocaust. The Holocaust and everything surrounding this time period in history is truly saddening, and I will always have respect for this period in history. I have found a new respect for the Holocaust, World War II, and all of the brave and innocent Jews that got pulled into this. All of the awful and grueling events that happened during this time period in the first half of the 1900s is unimaginable, and it is crazy to think that one spoiled Austrian boy would soon grow up to be someone who misuses all of his power and can brainwash the minds of millions to go against an innocent race. Even though we have only been in this unit for only about a week now, my views towards this period of time in history has changed as I now am beginning to understand more in detail of what happened. Many questions come into my mind surrounding this time period such as: How can one man do all of this? Just how, how can a single person have this much power in their hands? These questions constantly linger in my mind, and it just amazes me as to how one person can have this much power.
One of the most intriguing parts of the prior knowledge information that we have been learning about so far was Hitler's life. Someone who constantly failed and had a bitter view towards life when he was younger would grow up to become extremely successful in what he does to the point where he misused and took advantage of all of the power that he had. He was a high school drop out, failed to get into art school, and everything that he did came out as mediocre at best. So how did this Austrian boy soon grow up to be one of Germany's powerful leading figures that was able to invade country after country in an extremely short amount of time? How can someone go from little success to extreme success in what he did during his time of power? He basically had the world in his hands, invading country after country, having a large following, becoming one of the most powerful leaders in the world at the time. Just imagine walking on the streets of Austria back then and seeing a little boy with his mother. Little did people know that when he would grow up, he would climb up to power quickly and take advantage of many things. It just amazes me of how he evolved into this type of person. Sure, with his abusive father being Jewish, him constantly getting spoiled by his mother, and having fought in WWI while winning multiple awards for bravery including and the Iron Cross does play a part in this. However, putting all of that aside, just think of how a boy who constantly failed at everything he did growing up would evolve into an evil and powerful leader that would be recorded in history books for centuries and centuries to come. That is what really intrigues me.

Hitler's Invasion
Papen was the vice Chancellor and the favorite of Hindenburg. He did a speech in the Marbury University to check the power of the Nazis. He was very afraid because he made someone give a speech for him and they took it too far. However he got a standing ovation from his crowd. that night Hitler was very mad because the speech was all about him so it was the night of the Long Knives it was a purge and he killed his friend Ernst Rohm. in the night of August 1934 Hindenburg died and Hitler had all the power. 1934 to 1938 Hitler visually ready the Army while telling the world he wishes were peace. Most country stand by and do nothing as time and time again Hitler breaks the Treaty of Versailles. Heather produce military jobs but they were Jewish jobs so jews would no longer be able to work. In March 1938 after four years of preparation Hitler's Army was ready to move and Annex Austria. Annex is a peaceful takeover of a country where your troops occupied it. Hitler said it was the will of the Austrian people to become German. A while later Hitler demands the sudetenland and Europe allows Hitler to Annex it also. Sudetenland is a demilitarized zone between Germany and Czechoslovakia. Heather DeMoss Czechoslovakia so your opinion leaders intervene and meet with Hitler in muchi so the muchi agreement is when Hitler is allowed to Annex Czechoslovakia in exchange for a promise to invade or Annex no more or there will be War.This would be called appeasement when you give someone what they want for exchange a promise to not do it again and this case to avoid war. in this case appeasement didn't work it only embolders the bully and they should stand up to the bully in this case Hitler. the second reason is selling work is because people lie Hitler can be trusted at his word. On September 7th 1934 Germany invades Poland official state date of World War II.
The Soviet Union and Germany made an agreement not to go to war with one another. instead what countries would invade Poland and split the country at the oder river. in September 1st 1939 Poland was invaded. France and Great Britain declare war on Germany, however for the first six months of the war Germany is Unstoppable it is the number one military in the world and U.S. is only ranked 18th. Germany conquers Denmark Belgium Netherlands Norway Finland and more. The Crown Jewel for Hitler was to invade and conquer France. Maginot line Was made after World War I it was a wall and fortification on the German border to make invitation and impossible. However they just went across the Wall and France will be under Nazi control for the rest of the war. By June 1940 Great Britain as the only democracy alive fighting Hitler in Europe. Blitzkrieg means lightning War it was highly mechanized war with tanks and airplanes. There was three steps to the strategy first was aerial bombardment day and night to weaken defense. The Second Step was quick penetration with tanks and vehicles to central. 3rd Army and foot soldiers around conquer and take prisoners the lessen casualties on your side and conquers very quickly. Hitler attempts to conquer Britain an operation sea lion Battle of Britain are completely with Air Force and bombard day and night. The tactic didn't work against Great Britain because tanks and trucks can't go across water tanks aren't Jesus.
Thoughts on Hitler
I am very excited to be starting this night unit. I enjoy reading books that relate to the Holocaust and Hitler. I have heard many good things about this book. We have already started taking notes to prepare for the reading. One of my favorite topics to talk about is Hitler. Hitler is a very interesting person and I find it interesting to learn about him. He has had an interesting life that has made him into the person he was. He has had a past full of failure, an abusive parent, and rejection. He failed at everything he did as a young adult and got rejected from an art school. His father was abusive told his mom and Hitler didn't like his father that much for that reason. He joined World War I and fought for Germany. He considered himself to be more German than Austrian. He always thought of Germany as his country and that is why he fought for them in WWI. However, Germany ended up losing the War, and Hitler became very sad due to this. After the war, Germany was economically unstable, and Hitler wanted to change this because he wanted to make Germany good again.
Hitler has an interesting personality and I am surprised at what he accomplished as an adult. He conquered many countries in just six months. He did a lot for a guy who failed at mostly everything in his early life. He seems to be very smart to be able to do all that he did. He was able to become leader of Germany and have thousands of people obey him, he conquered many countries in just six months, and he became a very powerful and feared person. He accomplished many things, and even though he was pretty much evil, he was very successful. Learning about how Hitler grew up to become who he was was probably one of the most interesting parts of the notes we have taken. I am excited to learn more about the concentration camps and I can not wait to actually start reading the book Night. I read a very similar book before about a boy who tells his story of going through the concentration camps and surviving. I enjoyed the book very much and it was probably one of the best books I have read, so I hope that I will enjoy this book just as much

Hitler's strategy
Today we talked about the Holocaust and Hitler's strategy in how he would "cleansing the gene pool" Holocaust in Greek means "whole" (holo) and "burned" (caustos). Originally it meant a religious sacrament, when you would burn something for God. Instead the Nazis would create places called ghettos where they would make a lot of Jews go to live, this was a part of Hitler's plan. They lives in uncomfortable, crowded places that had little resources so they would starve to death and there would be lots of disease. This strategy was taking to long for Hitler and he decided to change it later so when they moved all the people in the ghettos out, they burned down the buildings to make sure that no one was hiding in the building. Hitler is very ruthless and for him to think that its taking to long for someone to due us so terrible. Either you would surrender and go in line with the others to get relocated, or you burned to death. The reason that the Nazis and Hitler hated the Jews so much was because of diaspora, where Jews emigrated lots of places all throughout history. Another reason being that they didn't like their religious views and thought Jews only cared about God and themselves. The last main reason of why the Nazis hated the Jews so much was the Great Depression, often Jews had more money during that time because most of them had jobs dealing with money and they were good business people. Hitler said it was because they were stealing money though and that they must take it back, which is a false claim.
Feeling of anti-semitic was happening even before, there was lots with Catholics and Jews because Jews didn't believe Jesus was the Son of God so there was lots of disagreement on that already. Hitler was very anti-semitic and he didn't believe that races should mix in a society, and if they did the country would surely fail, which is why he thought America would be so easy to take over. Hitler believed the perfect Aryan race would be a white person with Nordic looks, long head, tall body, blonde hair, and blue eyes. He thought that there had been too many years of people mixing genes and that it was ruining the Aryan race. Aryan isn't even a race though, it is a language group. Hitler's plan to cleanse the pool was to kill all undesirables (anyone with any type of physical or mental disability), or anyone who was Jewish. First he tried to do this by deporting them, but that wouldn't completely get rid of them, that is just moving them somewhere else. Hitler then sterilized them in a very gruesome way which was very inhumane. Then he tried to ghettos I explained earlier. After that wasn't working fast enough they would do mobile killing units which would go into a town and tell everyone they would be relocated but instead were brought somewhere to be shot into a pit they dig themselves, then more people would be killed on top and then you were buried all together. This was costing too much money and bullets for Hitler so that when he turned to concentration camps and the Final Solution.

Hitler's Past
Hitler's past is filled with failure. Hitler from when he was young has been spoiled by his mother. His mother has tried to give him everything he has wanted, which led to him throwing tantrums even older on when he does not get what he wants. This easily is behavior that was never disciplined and made it easy when he got all the power to kill someone if he wanted to. As even ubti gus adulthood he remained moody withdrawn, unstable and go into fits of ranting and raving. Own top of his mother spoiling him she was also super overprotective of him. He also experienced a lot of hallucinations through out his life including his adulthood. When Germany lost World War I Hitler went into a deep depression. He was wounded from a mustard gas attack which after he recovered, modified his voice making him have a lot more control over it, and it could seem like he was yelling when quiet and quiet when yelling.
Also Jewish prejudice and Anti-semitism ran rampant in Germany and explained where he got all that hate from. On top of that his father was abusive to his mother who despite his tantrums he loved, and he also eventually abandoned their family. He hated his father being abusive to his mother and since he was Jewish that also contributed a lot to his hate of Jews. He ran from Austria to Germany because they were drafting people for war. He was caught running and he was forced to take an exam for the war. However he failed the exam to even qualify for the war so he went to Germany and lived their as a bum for a few years. Until World War I however when he joined the army and found he loved war. He despite behaving child like, was cunning, smart and manipulative which led to him taking power of Germany and World War II beginning after he provoked the other European countries.

Hitler and A New Unit!
Even though I am happy that we are starting a new unit, I am also going to miss the WTNY unit a little bit. I believe that the unit helped me grow as a student and tought me that I can do much more than I ever thought I could. AAlthough I did not reach 100 pages with all of my ICE's and EQ's, I am proud of myslef and know that I did what I could to the best of my abbilities. The main reason that I am so exited to start the Holocaust unit is because it always interested me and I am exited to be learing more about it and why it happened and how. This is the final book that we will be reading in Mr. Boyle's class and I believe that it will be a very good unit. Although doing blog posts is very refreshig from doing 7 page papers, I think I might miss them. We recently fininshed the Wait Till Nexy Year unit, and are starting out Night unit. I am very excited to start a new unit and be back to blog posts rather than 7 page EQ's. In preperation for the Night unit we are learing more about the Holocaust and WWII. We have learned a lot about Hitler and everything that he did to start WWII and the Holocaust. The things that he did were insane and more people really should have read his book, then everything that had happened may not have happened. There were so many things that could have gone wrong and derailed the whole Holocaust and WWII, for example, after Papen's speech about Hitler and the Nazi's having too much power could have gotten Hitler fired from the office. The European leaders could have put him in his place while he was demanding more and more land, instead of giving him everything that he wanted in exchange for a promise. Overall, I believe it is incredible that Hitler was able to fool so many people into believing that all he wanted was peace. Everything that he was doing was screaming the exact opposite of peace. As for the people who did figure out what Hitler was going to do, no one believed them, and thought that they were crazy.

Hitler Blog Post
Adolf Hitler's past made him the hateful person that he would later become on by world dominating and killing many Jews. Although he did have a good relationship with his mother when he was a kid because he was a momas boy, he was spoiled by his mother. Hitler wasn't good at anything because he failed at many things including school, not very social. Although he did love art he was still rejected at the school. Hitler then left Austria, his birth place and went off to Germany where he would then join the German army and fight World War I. He loved it, Hitler enjoyed fighting in the war, could of died. This is because this was the only thing that he was really good at. When he was in the war he was attacked by a mustard gas attack and this injured him and made his voice louder.
Hitler did love fighting, but still he wasn't good enough and Germany lost the war. And things did start to go bad for Hitler because he was depressed about losing World War I. This was the start of him doing his part to help out Germany become great again and stop been made fun of by other countries. Although he did get four medals for his service and he got an Iron Cross for his bravery. Hitler joined the Nazi party and then he became the leader of the party. To become the leader Hitler lied a lot and told people what they wanted to hear. Hitler channeled Germany's anger after World War I on Jews and the rest of Europe. Hitler then failed again and he was arrested, he was given a sentence of three years in prison and quickly it was reduced to six months.
The Start of Night
I am so excited to start a new book and begin blog posts. I feel that we have not done blog posts in years, but really it has only been a couple of months. Night sounds so intriguing and interesting, it makes me so excited. I am kind of worried about the tests that Night brings, but I know that it will for sure be a fun and sad unit. I am excited to learn more about the Holocaust and World War II, but I know that it is sad, because of all the deaths that were involved. I have never really had that much of an interest in a unit until now. I can't wait to read the book, because I feel that I will be more aware of what has really gone on in the history of the World. I only know the most important pieces, but going into great depth and detail really allows you to get a deeper meaning from it, so you can learn it the best. The Holocaust and World War II are major events in World History that are still affecting us today, and we have learned and grown from our experiences. I think that by reading Night and doing the test we are fully preparing ourselves to learn about what has really happened in our world that made it such a scary place during that time period. Overall, I am really excited to learn more about the Holocaust and World War II through the test and Night that we are about to read.
Personally, my favorite part of the unit so far was learning about Germany taking over Austria and Czechoslovakia. It was funny hearing Mr. Boyle talk about how Czechoslovakia wasn't even in the loop with the conversation when the other European country leaders basically handed over Czechoslovakia to them๐๐. The leader of Czechoslovakia wasn't even at the meeting when they handed over that country to Germany. I feel that Czechoslovakia was feeling they were a little bit out of the loop, so I decided to give a meme devoted just for them, so they can feel appreciated for one. I somewhat feel bad for Czechoslovakia, because when their country was going to be taken over, and most people would be put to work in the army, Jews were to be killed, they didn't have a say in that. Some of them probably realized what Germany was doing, but the rest of Europe didn't care all because they didn't want to go to was once again, even though it would help their economy.

Why is Hitler so Ruthless?
Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1934 until the end of World War II in 1945. Today, we associate this figure with the embodiment of evil, and we believe that such a person was born evil. It is not the case though. Hitler was born into a dysfunctional family, with an abusive and short-tempered father, and a domineering and spoiling mother. He would continuously have temper tantrums if he didn't get his way, and he remained this mentally unstable for the rest of is life. He was considered a failure to many, and his failures made him believe that the world was out to get him, and that the only way he was to succeed was to get to them first. He also had a nationality problem. He was Austrian, but he believed that he was German at heart. He also had a dream of being an artist, and his dream was brutally crushed when he was rejected to an art school in Vienna. Hitler's only fun time in life was when he moved to Germany and enlisted in the army. He loved war, a thing that many of us today would find strange to believe. He volunteered for dangerous missions, and the army gave him a family he could relate and bond with. When he was temporarily blinded my a mustard gas attack in 1917 near the end of the war, he was sent into recovery at a German hospital. He hated that Germany surrendered, and the Treaty of Versailles had humiliated them. This time in the army and as a part of a dysfunctional family led him to believe that the world needs to change, and that he was the person to do it.
After World War I, Hitler became a politician for the National German Socialist Workers' Party, which he joined, and he steadily rose up the ranks of, giving moving speeches, and soon enough, he was the leader of the Nazi Party. He attempted a coup in Munich, and he was arrested for nine months, where he wrote his book Mein Kampf, which laid out his plans for world domination. The people of Germany loved him, as he wanted to bring the country back to former glory, and sharing his similar views to the people: the revoking of the Treaty of Versailles; building up the economy and army, and the extermination of undesirables. He made these things happen too, until his suicide in 1945 at the end of World War II. He denounced the Jews, stripping them of jobs and rights, and later killing them at concentration camps. He killed and imprisoned his "enemies," who were his political opponents, in the Night of the Long Knives in 1934. He also annexed and invaded countries to reunite all ethnic Germans separated after World War I ended. He used the powers of speech and blood to make himself the leader of Germany, and until his death in 1945, he ordered the killings of 6-8 million Jews in concentration camps, as his radical ideas said so. He was allowed to be so ruthless because he said he was doing it for the sake of Germany greatness. He was so ruthless because of his childhood, where he was abused and spoiled. His time in World War I, where Germany's defeat and the Treaty of Versailles made him hate the rest of the world, his time as a runner on the streets of Munich and Vienna made him a hardline anti-Semite, as the people who influenced him were following the trend of anti-Semitism, and his rise to power in the Nazi Party, and later, the Weimar government, made him act like a megalomaniac, with nothing in his way to enact laws that made himself the absolute ruler of Germany, and the undesirables below him cower in fear as they were persecuted and killed without remorse. Hitler today is known synonymously with evil, but his past made him what he was during his reign as dictator of Germany, and that is why he was so ruthless against so many people.
