Thoughts on Hitler

I am very excited to be starting this night unit. I enjoy reading books that relate to the Holocaust and Hitler. I have heard many good things about this book. We have already started taking notes to prepare for the reading. One of my favorite topics to talk about is Hitler. Hitler is a very interesting person and I find it interesting to learn about him. He has had an interesting life that has made him into the person he was. He has had a past full of failure, an abusive parent, and rejection. He failed at everything he did as a young adult and got rejected from an art school. His father was abusive told his mom and Hitler didn't like his father that much for that reason. He joined World War I and fought for Germany. He considered himself to be more German than Austrian. He always thought of Germany as his country and that is why he fought for them in WWI. However, Germany ended up losing the War, and Hitler became very sad due to this. After the war, Germany was economically unstable, and Hitler wanted to change this because he wanted to make Germany good again.

Hitler has an interesting personality and I am surprised at what he accomplished as an adult. He conquered many countries in just six months. He did a lot for a guy who failed at mostly everything in his early life. He seems to be very smart to be able to do all that he did. He was able to become leader of Germany and have thousands of people obey him, he conquered many countries in just six months, and he became a very powerful and feared person. He accomplished many things, and even though he was pretty much evil, he was very successful. Learning about how Hitler grew up to become who he was was probably one of the most interesting parts of the notes we have taken. I am excited to learn more about the concentration camps and I can not wait to actually start reading the book Night. I read a very similar book before about a boy who tells his story of going through the concentration camps and surviving. I enjoyed the book very much and it was probably one of the best books I have read, so I hope that I will enjoy this book just as much

  1. Good job with your blog post, about Hitler's past and who he grew up to be and all. I agree with you that Hitler's a pretty interesting person to learn about, however evil he might be. He considered himself German rather than Austrian and liked war. He was spoiled by his mom and loved her dearly, had an abusive father who he hated, a complete failure as a child failing in school and art school, and yet he was actually so smart that he became the leader of Germany. Thousands of people obeyed him and he did accomplish a lot of things like conquering many countries in six months. He was evil, but he was successful and accomplished things too. I'm excited to read Night too, since it feels like forever since we read the book as a class. Great job on your blog posts, with your thoughts about Hitler.

  2. Good job on your blog post Jocelyn. I am also excited and can't wait to read the book because I want to learn more about the holocaust and the past and what a person felt going through all of this. I am also surprised that Hitler accomplished a lot of things when he was not really that successful in school and in other subjects, but then he became the leader of Germany and killed millions of people because of this and took out most of our population. So when he was a kid he was not really successful, but when he became an adult he was very successful and had a lot of people who followed him because he said that he will lead Germany to greteness again. Overall Jocelyn good job with your blog!
