Chapter 3

Elie and his dad made it to the concentration camp. The very first thing they did was get presented to a man and get pointed left or right. The women and children were to go to the left and the men along with some teenagers  to the right. Were they would work to get out of the camp. The women and the children were going to the crematory and the men were going to be selected to work however some of them were going to die if they were too weak or young for work. Elie and his father were able to pass and go to work while some of them were put inside the crementory. Elie was afraid of the slow death and he thought it would be faster if he threw himself to the barbed wire. By doing this he would satisfy the Nazis. But they were taken to their barack. Then they were taken to the barber. The barber shaved them complety baled so they could use it for different items. But then they were moved to Auzfits were it was a more nicer camp than the one they already were in.

The soldier in change was very kind to them and treat them like humans. so the jews would work for a small amount of hours and they would sleep in the middle of the day and night. Elie and the rest of the prisoners would get a number. So that they could get dehumanized. Elie and the rest of the jews were starting to only care about themselves and would not put themselves first. This happened because they only wanted to survive and not care about anyone else.Elie while they were working they find someone from their family. Stein was asking Elie if he has seen his family so Elie said that did and talked to them because if his family were to die he said that he would not have any point in life Elie was certain that his family was already in the crementory and are dead already. Stein believed him so he was able to keep up in his work. However he found out that his family was already dead and didn’t care about anything and got killed. Elie knows this because they no longer see him the next couple of days
