A Strong Bond

The book of Night starts out by introducing Elie Wiesel, his family, and his what his life is like. Elie Wiesel. He starts out by talking about Moishe the Beadle. Elie described him as the jack-of-all-trades in Hasidic. He was poor, and people actually liked him. Elie met him when he was thirteen years old, and at that time, he would study Talmud during the day, and cry in the Synagogue during the night. Elie wanted to find a master who could guide him in the studies of Kabbalah. When he asked his father to find him one, his father said he was not old enough, so Elie went on to find someone himself. Elie was praying at dusk, and Moishe was watching him pray. He asked Elie why he cried when he prayed, and Elie answered that he did not know why he cried. Moishe then asked Elie why he prayed, and Elie responded back ad said he didn't know. From that day on, Elie kept on seeing him often. Moishe became like a teacher for Elie because he taught him many things. They would remain together in the Synongaoge after all the people had gone. Moishe taught Elie about the Kabbalah, and he valued his teachings very much.

It seems like the two have a very strong bond with one another. They talk to each other a lot and I think they have a strong connection. They seem to trust one another and they seem to understand one another very well. The way that Elie talks about Moshie makes him seem like he a part of Elie's family. They seem to have a bond that is almost like a family bond. They appreciate one another and care, however, they have their downfalls. They seem to have a very strong connection that is very relatable. I know that I could easily think of many people in my life who I have a strong bond with. The two seem to understand each other and they seem to know one another personally. It was nice reading this part when the two of them bond because it is nice to see the friendship between these two. Moishe seems to have been an important person in Elie's childhood when growing up, because Moishe seems to have a big impact on Elie's beliefs as a teenager.

  1. You did a very good job explaining the bond between Elie and Moishe. I like how you described how they became important to one another and the development of their relationship. I also have people that I beleive have a similar relationship to Elie and Moishe. I liked reading them bonding together and how that developed.
