Moishe Alive!

A person that got my attention was Moishe or Moishe the Beadle because he went through something very unexpected. When he was in a train been deported and crossed through the Hungarian border and finally made it to Polish territory. Moishe and others was taken by the gestapo, the train was stopped and the Jews were ordered to get off and onto waiting trucks. I knew what was happening because they took them to a forest were the Jews were ordered to get out and forced to dig huge trenches. Then the gestapo shot their prisoners, who were forced to approach the trench one by one. The trench was dug in the Galician forest and the reason why I Moishe caught my attention was because he escaped by a miracle, but he was wounded in the leg and he was left to be dead.

I feel bad for Moishe because he was not the same because even when he told what he witness to Elie Wiesel he tired not to believe him because it was too terrifying to believe. It was hard for him because he was no longer a teenager with a normal life. And he even started to forget about his religion, he no longer mentioned either God or Kabbalah. It was even harder because no other Jew believed his story about what he witnessed instead he said that they thought he was mad."I wanted to return to Sighet to describe to you my death so that you might ready yourselves while there is still time."(Elie Wiesel 7) Also Elie and  Moishe were friends since Elie was thirteen years old. Elie was worried now and he wanted to run away and it was kind of sad because he had a plan. The plan was for his father to sell everything so that they could run away, but his father didn't want to because of two reasons one was because he was old to start a new life and too old to start from scratch. It was sad because in less than three days German soldiers' vehicles made their appear in their street.

  1. Great job on explaining who Moishe the Beadle is and going into more detail. Also great job on saying your opnion about Moishe, and on saying that he was not the same and going onto what you think. Also great job on saying a quote from the book.

  2. Good job on your blog post, and good job on telling the readers what he has gone threw. I also think he is an interesting character, he tried to warn people about the german army. However, no one believed him and when the time actually came he went to Elie's window to say "I told you so." I agree with you, I also feel bad for him. Overall, good job.

  3. You did a good job with your blog post. You had a good summary in the beginning about what happened to Moishe and how he was brought to the forest to be shot and killed. I agree with what you said about feeling bad for Moishe. I also feel bad for Moishe since he's gone through so much and is not the same. It is sad that he started to loose his region due to the fact that he witnessed a terrible thing. You also did a good job describing the scene of when Moishe came back to warn them. Overall, you did a great job here!
